Award winning carving artist who focuses on Marine animals and unique nautical designs. My artistic creations span over 30 years.
All my works are one-of-a-kind pieces and are usually on the “substantial” side. They are table, wall mounted or ceiling hung.
Being an avid fisherman both on LI sound and in the Atlantic from Montauk to the Treasure coast of Florida, I began carving revered fish that I’ve caught and photographed: Striped Bass, Bluefish, Wahoo, Yellow Fin Tuna, Grouper, Sailfish, Pompano, Blue Crab, and turtles too.
My unique dynamic tables incorporate the use of rare blocks and tackle, where the tackle pulls and holds the table together, and is viewed through a thick glass top. There are no mechanical fasteners! Truly dynamic and original.
All of my creations are unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. Each is born from a specific wood species or shape, carefully hand crafted using natural woods and materials (some recycled, like driftwood). The sculptures span a creative period of over 30 years. Most of my carvings (entered in prestigious shows) have earned 10 awards, 3 of them were 1st place!
In 2021 I had 16 of my creations (sculptures, paintings, and tables) featured in the prestigious Elliott Museum in Stuart FL.
Approximately 30 years ago, I founded Prolume Inc. a custom LED lighting company (based on patents I had received). I’ve recently sold Prolume and now retired immersing myself in art. I also do watercolor paintings and make creative frames to complement.
